  • If you have drafted your own and require us to witness it: $19.99 plus taxes

Certified True Copy

In certain situations, you may be required to provide an important document such as your passport, birth certificate, identification card or academic records for an application or as a supporting document.  Rather than submitting the original document, in most cases a certified true copy will suffice.

Foreign Documents: we can make certified copies of non-English documents, however the original document must contain either a seal, a signature, or a stamp. If the document does not contain any of these then we can administer your oath, that the document is a copy of an original document, and notarize that instead.

Prices for certified true copies are as follows:

  • First copy certified by a notary public: $19.99 plus taxes

  • Every subsequent document certified: $9.99 plus taxes

  • Flat Rate for Canadian Passport: $49.99 plus taxes

We offer a flat rate for a certified copy of a standard Canadian passport or the equivalent (includes sealing through every page) This price will apply whether 1 or 10 pages need to be certified

Authentication & Legalization

In certain circumstances, a foreign third party requesting the document(s) will request the document(s) be stamped with an Apostille stamp. As Apostille stamps do not exist in Canada documents notarized in Canada must go through a process of "authentication" and "legalization" for them to be valid in the foreign jurisdiction. This process is recognized by most foreign jurisdictions.

Authentication involves having the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFATD) in Ottawa certify that the seal and signature on the document are from a notary public currently in good standing.

Legalization is done by the embassy or consulate of the destination country. A consular official confirms that the document is prepared appropriately and will confirm the certificate of authentication affixed by DFATD. If all is in order, the embassy or consulate affixes a certificate of legalization to your document.

Prices for the Authentication of Documents are as follows:

  • $99.99 plus applicable government fees, plus taxes

  • $49.99 for each subsequent authentication, plus taxes

Prices for the Legalization of Documents are as follows:

  • $99.99 plus applicable foreign government fees, plus taxes

  • $49.99 for each subsequent authentication plus applicable foreign government fees, plus taxes

  • $199.99 for Russian Files, $89.99 for each subsequent legalization plus applicable foreign government fees, plus taxes

Marriage Abroad

If you plan on getting married abroad, be advised that many foreign jurisdictions require a Statement in Lieu of a Certificate of Non-Impediment to Marriage Abroad from Canadian authorities, a Statutory Declaration of Marital Status or Single Status Declaration before you can marry in that jurisdiction. Most jurisdictions also require the individual to provide certified true copies of birth certificates, passports, marriage or divorce certificates and/or divorce order (if you were previously married and divorced), etc., before granting permission to continue. In addition, some foreign authorities may require that these notarized copies be authenticated and legalized by the appropriate authorities before they are accepted in that country. To avoid any issues, it is always prudent to enquire with the embassy/consulate of the country in which you plan to marry, or your travel agent to ensure that you comply with all related rules and regulations. Prices for Marriage Abroad depend on the following packages:

  • If we draft and witness the statutory declaration for you: $59.99 plus taxes

  • If you have drafted your own and require us to witness it: $19.99 plus taxes

Statutory Declaration in Lieu of Guarantor for Passport Application

You need a guarantor for new passport or travel document applications that you submit by mail or in person. Your guarantor can be a family member or anyone living at your address, as long as they meet the guarantor requirements. If you haven’t known an eligible guarantor for at least two years, our service includes the following: certification of applicant's photo, declaration in lieu of guarantor and certification of documents that support the applicant's identity. Prices for the entire package start from:

  • $59.99 plus taxes

Consent to Travel

A consent letter is not a legal requirement in Canada, but it can simplify travel for Canadian children, as it may be requested by immigration authorities when entering or leaving a foreign country or by Canadian officials when re-entering Canada. The letter demonstrates that Canadian children have permission to travel abroad from parents or guardians who are not accompanying them. A simple letter or travel consent form that has not been notarized by a licensed notary public may be rejected by border officials.

We strongly recommend that Canadian children carry a consent letter if they are travelling abroad alone, with only one parent/guardian, with friends or relatives or with a group. For the purposes of this consent letter, a Canadian child is defined as anyone who is under the age of majority (18 or 19, depending on the province or territory of residence).

Pricing for drafting and notarizing a consent letter starts at:

  • $59.99 plus taxes

Letter of Invitation

When applying for a visa to visit Canada, the Citizenship and Immigration Canada may sometimes ask the applicant to provide them with a letter of invitation from someone in Canada.

A letter of invitation does not guarantee the issuance of a visa. Visa officers assess the applicant, including the letter of invitation, to decide whether s/he meets the terms of Canada's immigration law.

Pricing for drafting and notarizing a letter of invitation starts at:

  • $59.99 plus taxes

Mobile Notary Services

Pricing for our mobile notary service is the same as our regular notary service, however a surcharge of $99.99 (or more, depending on distance) plus taxes will be added.

Online / E-Document Certification

As many documents are only available online, it is still expected that printed copies are certified as exact copies of the original version found online. The customer will be required to access the document(s) in person, even if a username and password is required to access the document. An emailed file will not suffice. We will print out your document and notarize it by affirming that the print out is a true copy of the electronic version. Each printed document will include a Notarial Certificate, along with notarial stamp and seal verifying that the online and printed versions are the same.

Pricing for Certified Copy of Electronic Documents starts at:

  • $49.99 plus taxes
